Emerging artist residency & exhibition
Everard Read showcases artists from Southern Africa and beyond, and has done since 1913 — the oldest commercial gallery in South Africa, and among the oldest in the world still in the hands of the founding family.
Everard Read is Africa's oldest commercial gallery and represents a roster of established and emerging artists working across painting, sculpture, photography and installation. The gallery has grown from a single Johannesburg room into seven spaces across four cities, and its programme now runs from intimate solo presentations to international fairs.
Everard Read has 7 gallery spaces across the globe in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Franschhoek and London, together with a dedicated sculpture garden and an artist residency.
